How does LivJrny work for a wedding?

Print one QR on each table. Guests scan with their phone camera and upload from the browser — no app, no sign-up — in English, Bahasa Melayu, Simplified or Traditional Chinese. Photos stream to a live wall on the projector, guests find their seat by scanning one QR at the entrance, and afterwards you export a print-ready wedding album and download every full-resolution original.

How does it work?

Three steps. Create the wedding in LivJrny, get a unique QR, and drop it on the invites, the table cards and a seat-finder card at the door. Guests scan and upload from the browser — no account. Every photo lands in your private gallery, ready for the projector live wall, the album editor, or the full-resolution ZIP.

Where to put your wedding QR code

Six positions where guests notice it, from the save-the-date through the last dance.

01

The save-the-date + printed invitation

Put the QR beside the RSVP line. Guests scan from the fridge magnet weeks before the wedding — most RSVPs come in the first 72 hours after they get the card, not two weeks later like planners assume.

02

The venue entrance welcome sign

A tall welcome board with the seat-finder QR. This is where your seating-chart investment earns its keep — guests type their name, see their table lit up on your actual floor plan, and walk straight to their seat without ever asking a planner.

03

Every reception table centerpiece

A small card next to the flowers. Table conversations start with "have you scanned it yet?" This is the single biggest driver of guest uploads — a wedding with per-table QRs sees 3-5x the uploads of one with only an entrance sign.

04

The bar

People wait at the bar. Waiting means idle phones. A small QR sticker on the bar mat catches the crowd nobody else does — and drink orders + candid shots go hand in hand.

05

The dance floor edge

A floor-standing sign at the edge of the dance floor catches the after-party crowd, when most of the memorable candid photos are taken. Late-night uploads are the ones you cherish most.

06

The parting favour

A QR on the box of cookies people take home — links to the post-wedding gallery so guests can view every shot when photos are ready. Extends your wedding for weeks after the day itself.

What to look for in a wedding photo-sharing platform

Not every "wedding photo app" is built for the wedding day. Here is what actually matters.

No app installation for guests

If your guests need to download something, half of them will skip it — especially at the reception when they are already three drinks in. QR + browser is the only path with a 90%+ participation rate.

Multi-language guest page

At a Malaysian wedding, that means English + Bahasa Melayu + Simplified Chinese + Traditional Chinese on the same page. Most US-built platforms are English-only, which is a barrier for aunties and uncles.

Full-resolution download you own

Some platforms strip EXIF or compress everything to 1080p. Look for full-resolution PNG/JPEG downloads without a subscription lock-in — you should own the originals, forever, off-platform.

A live wall that runs on any screen

The reception projector is not going to have Chrome auto-updated. Any platform requiring a proprietary display app or Chromecast dongle is a risk. Look for a plain URL you can open on any laptop and cast to the projector.

PIN-lock on the live wall

You do NOT want an unknown drunk cousin uploading something explicit to the wedding projector in real time. Any live-wall feature must have a PIN or moderation queue.

Wedding questions

Do wedding guests need to install an app?+
No. Guests scan the QR with their phone camera. The upload page opens in the browser on any iPhone or Android, in English, Bahasa Melayu, Simplified or Traditional Chinese.
How do I show the photos during the reception?+
Open the live display link on any screen or projector. New uploads appear within seconds. On Pro you can lock the display with a PIN so only your table controls what the room sees.
Can I print a wedding album from the guest photos?+
Yes. The album editor exports a print-ready PDF in A4, Letter or Square. Take it to any print shop, or use our print partners.
How do guests find their seats?+
Print one seat-finder QR at the entrance. Guests scan, type their name, and see their table highlighted on your actual floor plan — same layout your planner sent them.
What does it cost for one wedding?+
The trial is free with 50 uploads, enough to test end to end. A full wedding runs on Pro at $19/month: unlimited uploads, video messages, and the PIN-locked live wall. Cancel after the wedding.
What if elderly guests do not know how to scan a QR?+
Print a one-line instruction under the code — "Point your phone camera at the square, tap the yellow notification." Every phone from iOS 11 (2017) and Android 8 (2017) onward reads QRs natively. For older phones, the camera app in Google Photos also works. In our experience, at Malaysian weddings the aunties who are hesitant at the tea ceremony are the loudest uploaders by the dinner.
How many photos will 200 guests actually upload?+
Wedding averages, based on 100+ LivJrny events: 6-12 photos per guest across the day, so a 200-person wedding lands around 1,500-2,400 uploads. Multi-day weddings (Nikah + tea ceremony + banquet) can hit 4,000+. Your plan quota accounts for this — Pro is unlimited, Basic is a single event 500-upload cap.
Can we hide the live wall until after the first dance?+
Yes. Every event has a "hold uploads on the wall" toggle in the display settings. Uploads still come in and save to your gallery; they just do not appear on the projector until you flip it back on. Useful if you want the wall to launch as a surprise reveal after the toasts.
What happens to our photos if we cancel LivJrny after the wedding?+
Full-resolution ZIP download stays available for 6 months on Pro+, 30 days on Pro. Download the ZIP once, and you own the originals forever. We do not delete anything without email warning.
Does LivJrny work for destination weddings overseas?+
Yes — the platform runs in every country that has HTTPS access to Cloudflare. Guests scan the same way, regardless of local network. If your venue has weak wifi, guests still upload from their mobile data; uploads queue in-browser if signal drops and resend when it returns.
Is there a limit on video length or file size?+
Individual videos are compressed in the browser before upload — the tool caps at ~200 MB post-compression, which is roughly 3 minutes of 1080p or 15 seconds of 4K. Photos are compressed to 4K max long-edge. This keeps uploads under a minute even on venue wifi.
